What a wonderful Father’s Day we had! Our son and daughter-in-law from LA were with us.
We were not expecting our other son, daughter-in-law and 10 month old grandson.
They had been visiting family in Oregon, and arrived home Friday evening after an 11 hour drive. Needless to say, we did not expect them to drive 3 &1/2 hours on Sunday.
They called to say Happy Father’s Day in the morning and our son said he was going to spend the day eating and chilling on the sofa. (After all, this was his first Father’s Day!)
However, they then spontaneously decided to pack up the baby and dog and hit the road again to celebrate Father’s Day with all of us!
We were just finishing up the dishes when the four of us heard footsteps coming up the stairs, and there they were…our son, daughter-in-law, grandson, and dog!
We were all screaming with delight and surprise at the same time! This was the first time we were all together since before the pandemic!
Fortunately, the food was still out and they were able to eat. And I always make more than I need so no problem there!
Here’s the menu…
a refreshing Strawberry Lemonade …

appetizers…hummus and pita chips, and a basket of veggies and a red pepper spread…

I marinated an assortment of kebabs,(chicken, steak, shrimp, peppers, onions, and mushrooms), which my husband grilled, and we served them with orzo, pita, and homemade tzatziki… oh, and a Greek salad, but forgot to take a photo

For dessert… Glazed Chocolate Fudge Cake with Chambord and Raspberries
