Mom’s Challah Stuffing
A reader recently sent me a question asking what was my favorite and most loved holiday recipe, and although I have many to choose from I have to say that my family and I would agree my Mom’s Challah Stuffing takes top billing. This is a bread stuffing made from challah, which is a Jewish…
Smoked Salmon Terrine With Dill And Capers
Every year for Thanksgiving we begin the festivities by having our own extended little happy hour. I usually try to time this early enough in the afternoon so we will have time to digest and get hungry once again before the main event. Sometimes I’m successful, sometimes not. Sylvia, So glad you’re reading my blog, and I’ll be looking forward to hearing which recipes you try. Also, when it comes to dough the old adage is true…practice makes perfect…just make friends with the dough and don’t fear it…Sheila
Sweet-And-Sour Stuffed Cabbage
Sweet-And-Sour Stuffed Cabbage is a popular dish in the American Jewish cuisine. Today you will find a variety of stuffed cabbage recipes available. This sweet-and-sour version filled with ground meat originates from eastern Europe, specifically Poland and Russia, the birthplace of all four of my grandparents. It is a dish my mother made for us…
PASTRY FOR DOUBLE CRUST PIE ( pastry for 2 double crust pies) This is the pie crust I have chosen to use with the Salted Caramel Apple Pie recipe on the following post. It came from a Spiced Apple Pie recipe I make that appeared in a Bon Appetit magazine from February, 1998. It is…
